Since 2018, I have designed and collaborated on a range of motorsport liveries for the British Touring Car Championship and other high-profile series, working both independently and with colleagues at Joyce Design UK Ltd. Motorsport graphics require a careful balance between visual impact and practical constraints: the designs must convey speed, aggression, and energy while ensuring title sponsors and championship branding remain prominent.
Every livery is created with multiple considerations in mind: maintaining clear, bold graphics that remain legible under race conditions, leaving space for car numbers and logos, and ensuring panels can be easily replaced following on-track incidents. Small, delicate elements are avoided in favor of confident shapes and colours that communicate power and momentum, while also providing a visually cohesive framework that complements the sponsor identity.
The result is a series of liveries that merge aesthetic dynamism with practical resilience, ensuring the cars make an immediate impression on and off the track while giving sponsors maximum visibility and value.
